We all know Jackson Hole is a magical place to visit. However, there often comes a time during your stay when you want to leave the crowds and explore the surrounding areas. That’s why we’ve created our list of favorite half-day trips from Jackson Hole. All of which can be taken on a Double Black party bus, the closest thing to a Jackson Hole limo service, just better!
Victor and Driggs, Idaho
Located just on the other side of the Tetons, you will find two awesome little towns filled with entertainment and good eats. Considering it only has a population of about 2,000, Victor has a whole lot to offer, including Grand Teton Brewing Company, Victor Valley Market and multiple ranches that offer horseback riding. As it is only 30 minutes away from Jackson, it is a must visit during your stay!
Previously listed by National Geographic as one of the 10 best outdoor recreation destinations in the U.S., Driggs is an awesome little town less than 10 minutes past Victor. Here you will find abundant fishing and hiking as well as some of the only public golf courses near Jackson. There is also great food and drink options, including Teton Thai and Grand Teton Distillery. Both of which are on our list of the Best brewery in Jackson Hole!
If you plan on stopping at both Grand Teton Brewing Company and Grand Teton Distillery, we highly recommend you plan ahead with safe transportation. There’s no better Jackson Hole Transportation than Double Black!
Bondurant, Wyoming
If you came to Wyoming for serenity and a break from the hustle and bustle, only to be swarmed by crowds in Jackson, Bondurant is the perfect place to retreat for the day. With an approximate population of 100, you will be sure to find some peace and joy in Bondurant’s expansive Hoback Basin. Don’t mistake its lack of traffic as a sign of inferiority, as it is surrounded by seemingly endless hiking trails and fishing holes. Make sure to visit the Elk Horn, a one-stop shop that will compose of your bar and grill, gas station and convenience store for the day.
Driving Tour of Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is one of the wonders of Wyoming and the entrance is less than 10 minutes away from the Town Square of Jackson! While the entrance is extremely close it expands for over 300,000 acres, filled with wildlife, rivers and hiking trails.

Kelly, Wyoming
Situated along the Gros Ventre River, Kelly is an authentic western town inside of Grand Teton National Park. It is known for its amazing wildlife viewing opportunities, including bison, moose and wolves! Make sure to drive up to Slide Lake for some pristine views of Sheep Mountain. Perfect for aspiring wildlife photographers, Kelly is an easy stop from Jackson that will keep you wanting more!
Alpine, Wyoming
Head 37 miles southwest of Jackson along the Snake River Canyon and you will stumble upon Alpine, an outlying community that houses much of the community’s workforce. Home to the Palisades Reservoir, Alpine is a hotbed of water sports including fly-fishing, boating and kayaking.
