We all know the best bars have good food. This especially true at Coyo Taco where most people come for the actual restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After you eat, head through the \u201cEmployees Only\u201d door to find a secret bar where A-list DJs often perform!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paradis Books & Bread<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This wine bar and bakery (yes that\u2019s now a thing!) is cozy on the inside and spacious and the outside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Katsuya is famous, the semi-private hangout on the restaurant\u2019s second floor is much less known. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offering a chance to get away from the crowd and appreciated floor-to-ceiling murals as well as wine, cocktails, beer and of course, sushi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also have a great happy hour from 6 – 8 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key West Day Trip<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While Key West is often very crowded, it\u2019s an easy to forget activity when visiting Miami. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


We know going on a trip inside of a trip sounds kind of crazy, but Key West has a lot to offer that is different from Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can walk around the area or take the Conch Train Tour or Key West Trolley if you want to be more efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Areas to check out include Duval Street, the Marina, Southernmost Point Buoy and all of the museums!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Miami Restaurants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Uptown 66 Taqueria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Most places that stay open until 4:00 am sacrifice flavor for convenience. Not Uptown! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They source their hand-pressed tortillas of heirloom corn from Oaxaca and slow braise their meats overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure to check them out in the MiMo District!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jass<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Similar to Lagniappe but without the crowds, this sit-down restaurant offers live Jazz Thursday – Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend the clay pot of lamb which comes encased in a dome of brioche your server slice open at the table!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did we mention that ambience here is divine?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verde at PAMM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Believe it or not, one of the best hidden restaurants in Miami is located within the P\u00e9rez Art Museum!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dishes include mediterranean-style pizza, shishito peppers and za\u2019atar flatbread. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also has a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay, not to mention all of the wonderful art in the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hidden Shopping in Miami<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Red, White and Blue Thrift Store<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While this place might no be hidden, it\u2019s a true gem!
Also, a lot of people forget about thrift stores while on vacation so we thought it was worth including.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the <\/em>thrift shop of Miami and the flagship store of Hialeah\u2019s strip mall of secondhand goods, Flamingo Plaza<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami’s Up and Coming Neighborhoods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Little Havana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ever since Cubans started flocking to Miami in the 1960s during the Communist Revolution, Little Havana has been a haven for the latino community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area is known for its delicious Cuban sandwiches and coffee, as well as being a great place to listen to live Latin music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the bars and restaurants are on Calle Ocho between SW 21st and SW 10th avenues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll also want to check out Futurama, a community space with 12 artist studios!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little Haiti<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will want to check out Little Haiti if you appreciate authentic Haitian cuisine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also a great place for a stroll so you can check out the pastel buildings and Caribbean Market Place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is modeled after the Iron market in Port-au-Prince and is a great place to find Haitian and Afro-Caribbean arts and crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matheson Hammock Park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This beach is a lot less crowded than most of the beaches in the Miami area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


It is a lovely scenic park with a man-made atoll pool which is flushed naturally with the tidal action of nearby Biscayne Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has pavilions with charcoal grills, picnic tables, benches and is also a great place for kite-boarding!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami Beach Trolley<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Operating from 8:00 am – 11:00 pm, 7 days a week, the Miami Beach Trolley is the some of the best free transportation in the country!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It takes you all along Miami Beach with 20 minute intervals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
