Craft Beers in Jackson Hole
Brewing beer has exploded in Jackson Hole over the years, making it a great tourist destination for beer enthusiasts. While there has been at least one microbrewery here since the 80s (Grand Teton), many of the best breweries in Jackson Hole have been founded in the last decade or so. With many of these breweries sourcing their hops from Southern Idaho, their malting barley from Teton Valley and their water from local glacial run-off, the end result is beers that provide a true taste of the Tetons which is impossible to replicate anywhere else. Now let’s look at all of the great breweries in the various surrounding areas of Jackson Hole. The best way to see all of these breweries is a scenic brewery tour of Jackson Hole by Double Black. Best Breweries in Jackson, WY
Roadhouse
While their pub/eatery on Jackson’s Town Square is their busiest location as far as foot traffic goes, Roadhouse’s full production facility on Gregory Lane is where the magic happens. Outfitted with a 30 barrel brewhouse, canning line and barrel room, this place produces beer that is drunk all over the country. There is also a small taproom with 10 rotating taps of their latest and greatest creations.
Both locations are great stops for any tourist, but if you only have time for one we recommend the pub & eatery since there is also some killer food courtesy of Fine Dining Restaurant Group, Roadhouse’s partner that runs over half a dozen restaurants in the area.
Stillwest
The official new kid in town, Stillwest opened its doors in late 2018 and has quickly become a local favorite. They offer great beer and food, as well as some awesome cocktails and wine. However, their best offering is the view. Situated at the base of Snow King, their massive floor to vaulted ceiling windows offer an unobstructed view of newbie skiers wiping out all season long. During the summer, their massive deck allows customers to enjoy the beautiful weather while mountain bikers try their luck on the steep local hill.
Snake River
The longest standing brewpub in Jackson, Snake River Brewing has been around for almost thirty years and continues to supply craft beer to locals and tourists alike. With a newly renovated restaurant and a huge outdoor space for lawn games, Snake River has something for everyone.
Breweries in Eastern Idaho
Grand Teton
Founded in 1988 as Otto Brothers’ Brewing Company, Grand Teton was the first modern micro brewery in the state of Wyoming before it moved over the Hill into Victor, Idaho. Also known for reintroducing the modern 64 ounce glass growler, Grand Teton prides itself for innovating from the start and you can taste it in their constantly changing seasonal brews.
Wildlife
A small, independent craft brewery, Wildlife rotates 8 beers on tap and serves some delicious hand-tossed pizzas well. We recommend trying their Might Bison Brown which took home a gold medal at NABA in 2019.
Citizen 33
Built for the community members and visitors of Teton Valley, Citizen 33 is an homage to cold craft beer and the people who drink it. Located on Main Street, C33 is one of the many reasons to visit Driggs, Idaho which was listed on National Geographics “10 best outdoor recreation destinations in the U.S.”
Teton Thai
With arguably the best food in all of Idaho, Teton Thai serves authentic thai cuisine along with some great rotating beers in Driggs. While they may have started out as a restaurant group and pivoted to a brewing operation, they still make some of the best craft beer in the Jackson Hole area. If you have a large group we highly recommend reserving their taproom! Also, if you're staying in Jackson, make sure to check out their sister restaurant, Teton Tiger.
The Brewery in Alpine, WY
Melvin
A true destination brewery, Melvin’s Mothership Taproom in Alpine, Wyoming has everything you need for a great time. They have won countless awards, including Brewing Group of the Year at Great American Beer Fest in 2017 and their constantly changing brews back it up. If you don’t have time to make it over to Alpine, make sure to stop at their OG brewpub, Thai Me Up, located in Downtown Jackson.
